Peanut Butter

I still enjoy reading Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series.

The cousins had great adventures and wonderful picnics.

Their picnics had the best meals - bacon, eggs, cold ham, ginger cake, lemonade, humbugs, toffees, peanut butter sandwiches, scones, ginger beer, ginger ale, jam tarts etc.

Although I have had opportunities to try out some food mentioned in her book, I kept myself off peanut butter.

My logic - if it’s butter, it’s terrible for health.

Nevertheless, I recently found myself scrolling through a shopping app looking for peanut butter.

And guess what. I purchased it—a good-sized jar.

I have to admit; I did not enjoy the taste.

Just bread and peanut butter made it hard to swallow. 😬

However, I couldn’t let it go to waste. So I had to think of combining it with something else.

Today, for breakfast, I toasted the bread slices and added a layer of peanut butter on one side of the bread slice and a generous layer of jam on another slice.

Voila! I got a yummy sandwich 🥪!

What happened was quite simple.

Bread + jam + peanut butter = great tasting sandwich. 😋

Adding just the jam made a big difference.

In the same manner, adding goodness to faith upgrades our Christian character.

Learning to know God better, doing His will, and loving others result in goodness.

Goodness + Faith = Genuine Faith (ref. 2 Peter 3:5 NIrV)

Put your faith in action, and others will see the love of God.

“So you should try very hard to add goodness to your faith. To goodness, add knowledge.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬
